President’s Message and Corporate Philosophy

President’s Message

代表取締役社長の写真Ever since Tozai Boeki Kaisha, Ltd. was founded in 1958, we have grown our business in our own unique way and worked to expand both domestically and overseas. This will be our 55th year. From our experience thus far, we have realized that what gives us the surest foothold as a trading company is honest communication with our business partners and clients. Using IT naturally facilitates communication, but we also recognize that what’s even more important and fundamental is to go to a place, talk face to face, observe conditions with our own eyes, and move forward step by step.

To maximize our corporate value and ensure sustained growth and development, we laid out a medium-term five-year plan in 2010. We are now in the third year of that plan. The past two years went almost entirely according to plan, but as the economic environment surrounding Japan during the current year has gotten more severe—with the yen’s high value, the European financial crisis, and flooding in Thailand—it feels like we are approaching a moment of truth. As globalization and borderless business accelerate, we are determined to maintain strong bonds and close coordination with our three overseas offices in China, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, and to overcome these trying times in our own inimitable style.

It is precisely in times of upheaval such as these that we should return to our founding spirit, which is encapsulated in this expression: “Good and sustained human relation are the fundamental key to successful business.” Everyone in this company will work as one and give everything they have, so we ask that you support us more than ever before.

Minoru Sano, President
